The ACX6360 Universal Metro Router is an essential part of our converged and automated Metro Fabric solution. It bridges the complexity between packet optical transport and the IP/MPLS networking layer by collapsing both domains into a seamless, multilayer solution with a single-pane-of-glass view into the network.
Built to our programmable photonic layer design, the 1.6 TB ACX6360 is powered by our ExpressPlus silicon running at 3.6 Tbps. It’s optimized for disaggregated and open-line architectures, offering unique levels of scale, density, security, and flexibility. The ACX6360 combines IP-optical convergence, 100GbE aggregation, and 100G/200G dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) coherent transport onto a single 1 U stackable platform. Its space- and power-efficient design supports metro, Data Center Interconnect (DCI), and distributed access architecture (DAA) applications.
The ACX6360 provides secure transport based on IEEE 802.1AE encryption, 802.1X authentication, and industry-compliant 256AES MACsec encryption. It supports modern automation and telemetry tools via Junos OS to meet cloud-grade routing principles.
You can choose between two platform configuration modes:
- Muxponder-like Transponder Mode, which maps client interface to line optical port
- Label-switched Routing Mode, which passes traffic from any-to-any interface, enabling statistical multiplexing advantages.
To break through capacity and flexibility boundaries, the ACX6360 supports 20 x QSFP28 100GbE pluggable client interfaces combined with 8 x CFP2-DCO 100G/200G pluggable coherent DWDM interfaces. This approach supports a flexible choice of DP-QPSK, DP-8QAM, and DP-16QAM modulation.
